It's me. And what's wrong with this post title?

I think I might need to change my blogger password. Mandy jumped on again and added an "About Me" page, and then stuck a link to her blog on it! I know I'm sending her TONS of traffic. Good thing I started this blog. Proof: she has a survey up on her blog that questions her readers.  One of the questions was "How did you find my blog?"  You wouldn't believe how many people clicked "other" and then typed "through your husband's blog."

As I said, she added the "About Me" page, with her link, and no other content.  Being the perfectionist that I am, I couldn't leave it that way. So I wrote about me. Pretty fascinating subject, but it seemed vaguely familiar. Click the link at the top to read...about me.

Also, Mandy says every post needs a picture, so here you go. Congrats to our friend Brianne on an awesome marriage, complete with photo booth for the guests.

ONE MORE THING...is anyone else cursed with the habit of putting TWO spaces after each period? I learned to type that way, but apparently have been doing it all wrong. I'm trying to do better, but I'm fighting years of misbehavior.

  1. UGH. I was TAUGHT in SCHOOL to use two spaces after punctuation. I just recently learned that it is wrong. And now I try VERY hard to stick to a single space... but it is hard when it is so engrained! I've already done it twice and had to delete while typing this comment! HAHA

  2. I had never heard that two spaces is wrong until just now. This makes me feel kind of foolish and now need to start re-training myself, which will be rough because all I do at work is write, write, write (and always with the double space).
There really is something incredibly satisfying about going *period*space*space* though. Maybe we should all just band together and rebel. A Rebel Alliance, if you will :)

  3. UGH I hate the stupid spaces after a period rule! I was taught to do that in school and have been doing it my entire life. And would have continued to do it, except I married an English major (who lovingly edits all of my posts before I publish them) and so he's working to break me of the habit. Blech, stupid school for teaching me bad habits! And I totally found your wife's blog through yours :-)

  4. ah, well if you are writing a term paper two spaces is correct, as is a blank line between paragraphs, and indenting the paragraphs for that matter.

However, they changed all the rules for writing online due to how different reading on a monitor is from reading on paper. Go figure.

  5. I am a two-spacer and didn't know it was wrong until reading this post either. Ugh is right! I guess I'll have to try to change.

  6. Further proof that one space is the new right: the title of this post, "It's me. And what's wrong with this post" had two spaces after "me." when I wrote it. Google/Blogger auto-edited it to one space.

  7. Who knew? I still put 2 spaces between the state & the zip code too. Since I learned to type on both a manual & electric typewriter ( the electric one was brand new, we only had 5 or 6 in class ), I learned punctuation the old fashioned way. Dates me I know.

  8. Again a post full of wit and insight. And yes I just double spaced after the period. So shoot me!

  9. I just found your blog through a completely different blogger. Don't know how I've never found you. Too funny.

I also double space after each sentence. I wasn't told it was wrong, I just figured it was being taught different now. My problem is I find myself putting two spaces when I text. That uses up available characters. And is stupid when texting :)

  10. I am going to say that it's wrong to use just one space, I'll stick with what I learned through school and college. I will continue to put a period and two spaces after each sentence, just like I will continue to spell out words and use emoticons sparingly. :D

  11. I was taught it early on in school. Sometime while in middle school someone thought it may save paper to use only one space.... uh sure. :-)

  13. Wait, what?? When did this become a rule? I learned two spaces ALWAYS after period in eight grade! Crap. They keep changing stuff. Pluto IS a planet!
