Instagram Envy

So there's all sorts of websites that Mandy uses that are crucial to her crafting/blogging world.  I know they're crucial because she's on them all the time.  Facebook.  Pinterest.  StumbleUpon.  You know the type.  Blogging and blog following is hard work.  By the time she's worked her way through her reader she's worn out.  My hat goes off to her and all of you hardy souls so dedicated to the cause of blog following.

Mandy has a tablet and uses it to keep tabs (pun intended) on her blogging when on the go.  However, she doesn't have a smartphone.  I do and I love it.  I've been trying to talk her into it.  She claims she doesn't use her current normal phone enough to justify a smartphone, and I can't argue with her there.  There's about a 10% likelihood of her answering her cell phone at any given time.  There's an 11% chance that it will even be charged up or turned on. So she sticks with her tablet. She likes how big it is.  The tablet, that is.  (Coincidentally, I'm writing this post on her tablet en route to Minneapolis.  I'm sure you'll read about our trip on Mandy's blog.)

Anyways, there is one thing that her tablet or regular phone can't do and that's Instagram.  She loves other blogger's pictures and wishes she could be part of the fun.  I didn't get the whole Instagram craze, but I downloaded it to my phone so Mandy could use it.  She never did, but I tried it out.  I have a confession to make...

I love Instagram.

Mainly for its camera.  The effects are cool too.  I still don't get the whole following, social part of it yet, but I'm sure that will come.   The camera is faster loading than my regular phone camera, and it makes it really easy to share the pictures.  Buy you all know this.  Because everyone's on Instagram.

Except Mandy.

So, go out there and follow me on Instagram.  I'll take random pictures of Mandy's projects and other happenings. You'll see what she (she means me) is working on before they become posts.  I even got funky yesterday and Instagrammed my way through a quick project I did for her and the kids.  Step by step photos.  Mandy will be so happy...which is a good thing, if you know what I mean.

  2. I would love to see the step by step on how you made your bike/scooter rack. Dan (my husband) was just talking the other day about how he wants to build one for our crew or wheeled items that litter the garage.

  3. I never tweeted until I wanted to join into a quilt chat party, and now I tweet but only with other quilters, designers, and guild members etc. Instagram is the same, it is a visual twitter with the same community. It is also a quick way to get a photo on Facebook, twitter, and into my flickr to blog about. She might especially like that aspect. And the cool effects. Oh I can can even send it straight to my blog!
