Did You Take a Before Picture?

We spent the weekend in Minneapolis and of course had to visit IKEA.  I came out of the store with an idea of how to build an adjustable sawhorse.  Mandy came out of the store with two shelves, two storage racks, three baskets, a bunch of hooks, three light fixtures...you get the idea.

Imagine this made out of 2x4's and in the garage...

Today she had our 9 year old assemble the shelves in exchange for Wii time.  Sounds like a good trade to me.  When I got home, I tightened all the screws, cleaned out the laundry room, and set up the shelves.  I called Mandy in to inspect the new layout.  The first words out of her mouth were:

"Did you take a before picture?"

How silly of me!  I forgot that the purpose of revamping our laundry room was to provide blog material.  I'd type more now, but I need to go and take the shelves out of the laundry room, re-pile the dirty clothes and rearrange the dust bunnies.  I'll also need the camera.  To capture the before picture.

  1. You are soooo funny! Mandy is a gem (and a great shopper!) Sometimes my husbands first words are "I'm sorry, I didn't take a picture first, but....." I love him!

  8. Okay so I love this, maybe it's because I'm married to an engineer and as I've been reading back through all the posts I am laughing out loud about some of the stuff you've said. It just all sounds so familiar. Especially the bit about printing the plans in color and binding them:)

  9. I forget the before picture more times than I remember or if I remember the before picture I forget the step by steps.
