Is anyone else as PUMPED as I am for...

I am pumped! Are you? They just released the COLOR OF THE YEAR for 2013! Big shout out to Mandy for introducing me to the Color of the Year about 15 minutes ago. My life will never be the same. Drumroll please...

EMERALD
(more commonly known as 17-5641)

I'm pumped! 2012 has been a good year, right? I mean, who will forget Tangerine Tango, rhyme's with mango? And then there was 2011, with...hmm...never mind 2011. Can't pull that one out. But anyways, Emerald, right? Can I go ahead and nickname it Epic Emerald? Because that's what 2013 is going to be with this color.

There are a few special reasons Emerald is near and dear to my heart:
  1. It's a one-word color with only seven letters. None of this Tangerine Tango or other long, drawn out nonsenese.
  2. It's an actual old school, non-made-up color. It's only the second time since 2007 that that's happened (Turquoise 2010, anyone?).
  3. Emerald is also a shape. And it happens to be the only shape of diamonds that Mandy really likes, and also happens to be more expensive...thanks, Emerald, I guess.
Want your year to be luminous, unifying, radiant, and all the other positives listed below? Just order a few cans of Emerald spray paint and paint your husband's car while he's sleeping in on January 1st. Trust me, he'll be glad you did.

  3. In the past I have not been as tuned into the color of the year a I should be and it has cost me as a seamstress (I wish I was joking). The colors that the pantone people choose are some of the only bright colors that you can find in the store. So I have bought clearance fabric on the way out and then have been unable to find notions for it.
For you I think it means that you should change the color of your links for the next year so you can be hip.

  4. Dangit! And I was about to decorate my dining room using emerald green - I thought "oh, this will be really gorgeous and unique...nobody really uses green anymore"... now I'm just going to look like a trend follower. >_<
